Opening Workshop to Introduce Maritime Safety Approach and Safety Management System at Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Transport- Major General / Zakaria Al-Shami, and the supervision of the President of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation, Captain / Mohammad Abu Bakr Ishaq, the Vice President of the Corporation- Eng. Yehya Abass Sharafuldin on 27^th February 2021 the activities of the workshop related to introducing Maritime Safety Approach and Safety Management System at the Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, with the participation of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Institute.

This ten-day workshop aims to raise the level of knowledge of the participants in the safety system (SMS) and to identify the factors that cause accidents, dangers, errors, shortcomings and weaknesses that may occur in the workplace, whether at the level of procedures and systems or at the level of human behavior and human factors or at the level of Equipment and infrastructure.

During the workshop, the relevant departments will be provided with the knowledge, skills and behaviors necessary for the safety process in order to actively contribute to meeting safety requirements at work sites in accordance with the international requirements issued by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as well as the local requirements issued by the Yemeni Ministry of Transport.
