Aeronautical engineer license

1 General conditions (requirements) for issuing an aeronautical engineer license

1. Fill out the application form for issuing the license in clear writing and have it signed by the applicant for the license.

2. The age must not be less than (18) years, and the applicant for the license must attach a copy of the ID card, passport, or family card (if he is Yemeni) or a copy of the passport (if he is Arab or foreign).

3. An exact copy of the certificate of successful completion of high school studies (if Yemeni) or its equivalent

(If he is an Arab or a foreigner).

4. A copy of a valid medical evaluation certificate (second class) issued by an accredited medical examiner. Note that the validity period of the medical evaluation certificate is (12 months) starting from the date of the medical evaluation.

5. A copy of the certificate of successful completion of theoretical study at the aeronautical engineer level, issued by an accredited training center.

6. A copy of the result of successfully passing the written exams issued by the Authority during the period of (24 months) preceding the date of submission of the application. Note that the result of successfully passing the written exams is valid for a period of (24 months), and the result is considered canceled or expired if the period exceeds (24 months). (The written tests are repeated again by the Authority in accordance with the approved test regulations and schedules.

7. Submit a certified flight hours log stamped with the company seal, indicating the work of no less than

(100) hours of flying under the supervision of a certified instructor, including no more than (50) hours on the simulator.

8. An original practical test form signed by an accredited air inspector, stating that the license applicant successfully passed the practical and oral tests. Note that the validity period of the practical test is (12 months), starting from the date of the test and ending at the end of the next month.

9. Take a course in transporting dangerous goods.

10. Receive a course on emergency procedures.

11. A colored personal photo (size 2 x 3) with a blue background.

12. A copy of the language proficiency assessment certificate issued by a body accredited to conduct language proficiency tests in accordance with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), provided that the student achieves

Fourth level license (operational level) as a minimum, provided that the evaluation is conducted in several stages according to the ability and competence of each person and in accordance with the following standards:

A- Those who obtained the fourth level (operational level) will be re-evaluated linguistically every (3) years.

B- Those who obtained the fifth level (extended level) will be re-evaluated linguistically every (6) years.

C- Those who have achieved the sixth level (knowledge level) will be exempted from any other language assessment.

13. Pay the due fees in cash in the amount of (30,000) riyals and attach a copy of the fees receipt.

14. The period of validity of the leave (12 months) starting from the date of issuance of the leave and ending at the end of the month.

15. Privileges of the license holder and the conditions that must be observed when exercising these privileges:

A - The privileges of a holder of an aeronautical engineer license are to work as an aeronautical engineer on a type of aircraft on which he has demonstrated the level of knowledge and skill, as determined by the Authority on the basis of the conditions stipulated in civil aviation regulations for the safe operation of this type of aircraft.

B- The model of aircraft on which he is authorized to exercise the privileges of that license must be recorded in the aviation engineer’s license, or it must be recorded in another document.
