The Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority- Meteorological Sector organized on 1st August 2023 in Sana'a a training course in the field of numerical weather prediction principles in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the European Union.
The week-long course aims to provide ten meteorologists with the skills of numerical weather forecasts and to raise the capabilities of the meteorological sector in weather forecasts and early warning of weather risks.
In the course, the Deputy Chairman of CAMA- Raed Jabal pointed out to the importance of training, qualifying and raising the professional capabilities of the meteorological sector cadres in order to produce information for the citizen at an early date and deliver it to people and beneficiaries to protect lives and property.
In turn, the Assistant Deputy Chairman for the Meteorological Sector- Eng. Muhammad Hamid stressed the need for continuous qualification of the staff to improve their work in the field of meteorology, praising the support and efforts of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the European Union to support meteorological services in Yemen.
The Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)- Dr. Libanda, affirmed the organization's readiness to support and develop the meteorological sector in the field of early warning, and the continuation of joint cooperation in training and qualifying meteorological sector cadres.
The opening ceremony was attended by an expert in geographic information systems, Dr. Muhammad Jahjah.
