The Minister of Transport and Public Works- Muhammad Qohaim stressed that the addition of two weekly flights starting from 4th of September 2024 , Wednesday, in addition to the continuing daily flight from Sanaa to Amman and return.
The Minister- Qohaim explained during his visit on 3rd of September 2024 to Sanaa International Airport, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works- Yahya Al-Sayani, and the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yemen Airways- Khalil Jahaf, that the addition of two weekly flights in addition to the daily flight of the Yemen Airways through Sanaa Airport to Queen Alia Airport in Jordan came after providing fuel for the aircraft in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, he also pointed out that the Israeli aggression against the aircraft fuel tanks in Hodeidah had caused the number of flights from Sanaa to Amman to be reduced to one flight per day.
He pointed out that the official efforts resulted in overcoming the repercussions of the American-British aggression and the Israeli aggression against Yemen in an attempt to dissuade it from its position of support for Gaza and the Palestinian people.
The Minister of Transport and Public Works also stated that there are understandings in accordance with the agreement between Sanaa and Riyadh to open the new agreed-upon destinations.
On his part, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works stressed that, in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, aviation fuel was provided and two flights per week were added on Wednesday and Monday, in addition to the daily flight to the Sanaa-Amman destination and return.
He also explained that the number of flights that will depart from Sanaa International Airport to Queen Alia Airport and return will be nine flights per week via Yemen Airways.
Al-Sayani also pointed out that the Israeli enemy's bombing of Hodeidah seaport and fuel tanks led to reducing the number of flights from two flights per day to one flight as a result of the aircraft's fuel running out.
In turn, the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemen Airways indicated that the barbaric Israeli bombing of Hodeidah seaport and fuel tanks resulted in the damage for approximately three thousand passengers.
He also stressed that adding two flights per week in addition to the daily flight between Sanaa and Amman will contribute to overcoming the crisis and providing the opportunity for more passengers via Yemen Airways.
He stated that the main reason for the delay in passengers' luggage was the lack of aircraft fuel, which forced the company to reduce the loads.
Qohaim, Al-Sayani and Jahaf were briefed on the progress of work at Sana’a International Airport and the services it provides to passengers, flights to Jordan, and flights of the United Nations and humanitarian organizations working in Yemen.
They listened to an explanation from Sanaa Airport Director- Khaled Al-Shayef about the procedures, services and facilitations provided to passengers through the airport in accordance with the requirements and conditions applicable in the international airports.
They were accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority- Arif Al-Ashram, the Assistant Deputy Chairman for the Airports Sector- Yahya Al-Kohlani, and the Director of Sanaa Airport Security- Brigadier General/ Jarallah Ahmed Jarallah.
