Our country Celebrates Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel International Day

our country, represented by the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (CAMA), celebrated Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP)International Day, which falls on November 12th  of each year. At the ceremony, the Chairman of CAMA- Dr. Mohammed Abdulkader delivered a speech at the outset, in which he congratulated the engineers and technicians of air traffic safety electronics for their global day, praising the achievements they had made and the great efforts they made in securing air traffic and reforming the electronic network. The Chairman of CAMA stressed that the Authority has efficient technical and engineering expertise that would enable it to dispense with outside expertise.He also clarified that despite the aggression and the blockade, the air traffic safety electronics personnel and technicians have proven their success and worked to overcome the challenges by providing and manufacturing spare parts for some navigation systems, which is not done in other countries. The Chairman pointed out that the tasks and work of the air traffic safety electronics personnel are the backbone of civil aviation as they are the link between the air traffic controller and the aircraft’s captain, stressing that CAMA’s leadership keenness to pay attention to and qualify its air traffic safety electronics personnel.In the meantime, the Director General of Navigational Systems and Procurement- Engineer/ Abdulwahab Abu Talib, indicated in his speech that the celebration of this occasion is an opportunity to introduce the services provided by the air traffic safety electronics personnel and technicians to maintain the civil aviation safety and the operation of flights in a safe and secure manner at the Republic of Yemen airports and its Flight Information Region (FIR). Eng. Abu Talib presented the efforts and activities of the Navigational Systems and Procurement Directorate General in operating and maintaining the air navigation communication systems with the aim of securing and saving air navigation traffic in our country in accordance with international standards and the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and keeping abreast of the global technologies used in air traffic systems; praising CAMA's leadership support to the air traffic safety electronics personnel and technicians.For his part, the Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel Association Secretary-General- Eng. Maher Bahram, delivered a speech in which he addressed the engineers' efforts in repairing and maintaining the electronic network at the Air Navigation Center, Airports and the readiness of the engineering team to keep pace with all the new developments in the field of civil aviation. He also pointed out that the celebration of the Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel International Day came after Yemen, represented by CAMA, joined the Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel International Association in 2018. During the ceremony, which was attended by CAMA’s Deputy Chairman- M. Raed Talib Jabal, and Sana’a International Airport Director General- Mr. Khaled Al-Shayef, a reportage presented the technical and engineering achievements made by the air traffic safety electronics personnel.
