News Editing and Drafting Training Course for Ministry of Transport Staff

A special training course organized by the Ministry of Transport and its affiliated authorities and corporations on media and news editing and drafting started on 31st January 2021 in Sana'a within the framework of the National Vision for Building the Modern Yemeni State. The course aimed at providing 35 participants from the Ministry of Transport and its affiliated authorities and corporations with theoretical knowledge of the news, its types, sources of its elements and values, concepts of the arts and formats of drafting, press editing, radio, television and digital news and the training of participants in the creation and editing of news for media.

The course, which is the first of its kind, is a part of the first consultation event programs for information and public relations officials of the Ministry of Transport and its authorities and corporations. The course also dealt with the concept and types of news, (journalism, radio, television and digital), along with the news elements, values and patterns of the news, traditional and modern news sources, confidence-building, verification of the credibility and availability of news and the use of multimedia in the formulation of news, traditional and modern news formats and editing methods.

During the course, the Instructor and Head of the Radio and Television Department- Information College, Sana'a University- Dr. Mohammed Al-Faqih, emphasized the importance of the training course in refining the knowledge on the news drafting for the participants in the governmental institutions. He also praised the interest of the Ministry of Transport's leadership in training and qualification, explaining that the course would develop the capacities of the participants in professional journalism and the professional drafting of news.
