The Ministry of Transport and CAMA organized a protesting stand on 7^th December 2020 at Sana'a International Airport on the occasion of the International Civil Aviation Day, which falls on the seventh of December of each year. The participants in the stand denounced the shameful silence of the International Community and Human Rights Organizations regarding the killing of children and women and genocide against the Yemeni people by the countries of the aggression coalition led by Saudi Arabia. The participants in the stand raised banners calling for the lifting of the blockade imposed on Sana'a International Airport and calling for the resumption of civil, commercial and humanitarian flights. They also stressed that the Saudi-led coalition of aggression misleads public opinion over the six years of aggression about what is happening in Yemen in terms of killing, brutal crimes and destruction of civilian infrastructure. In the stand that was attended- by the Chairman of CAMA- Dr. Mohammad Abdulkader, CAMA’s Deputy Chairman- Mr. Raed Jabal, the Assistant Deputies Chairman of CAMA’s Sectors, the Director General of Sana’a International Airport- Mr. Khaled Al-Shayef, and all the employees of CAMA- a statement was issued by the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, read by the Director General of Air Transport and CAMA’s spokesman- Dr. Mazen Ghanem, stressed on the continuation of the aggression Led by Saudi Arabia in targeting the civil aviation infrastructure and imposing an air blockade on the civilian airports.  The statement also indicated that the world celebrates the Civil Aviation International Day every year, while the coalition of aggression continues to restrict the freedom of the Yemeni citizens to travel without any justification, striking against all Laws, Treaties and International Conventions.

He also clarified that the civil aviation and meteorology sector in the Republic of Yemen is witnessing a complete paralysis due to the criminal acts practiced by the countries of the coalition of aggression; expressing the regret of the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority about the systematic and deliberate destruction of the civil aviation sector in Yemen in front of the world’s eyes and ears and shameful international silence.

Meanwhile, the statement stated that the Ministry of Health statistics indicate the death of more than 80 thousand patients due to their inability to travel for treatment abroad and more than 450 thousand patients in need of treatment, of whom 25-30 sick cases die every day, and an unknown fate awaits them in the event of the continued air blockade.

The Statistics indicate that more than 65 thousand patients with cancerous tumors are threatened with certain death, and more than 12 thousand patients with kidney failure need urgent renal transplants abroad. The statement also confirmed the death of one traveler for every ten travelers who had to travel by land through Sana’a- Aden and Sana'a- Seyoun due to road accidents and difficulty in traveling between cities. The statement called for taking a decisive position towards targeting the Yemeni civilian airports and the continuation of the air blockade imposed on them, at the forefront Sana’a International Airport, by the issuance of an immediate and binding international resolution by the UN Security Council.
