A meeting held on 12th August 2024 at Sanaa International Airport, headed by the Chairman of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority- Yahya Al-Sayani, in which they discussed the airport’s technical and operational readiness to receive flights during the next stage.
The meeting, in the presence of the Authority’s Deputy Chairman- Arif Al-Ashram, and including the Director of Sana’a International Airport- Khaled Al-Shayef, and the Directors of Air Transport- Dr. Mazen Ghanem, and Constructions Director- Hadi Khairan reviewed the strategic and development plans for the airport in the technical aspects in accordance with the international specifications and standards.
In the meeting, Al-Sayani stressed the importance of the next phase in developing and modernizing civil aviation in general and Sanaa Airport in particular in the technical and administrative aspects.
He also stressed the need to keep pace with the development and modernization of the strategy pursued by the Supreme Political Council in the construction phase of the State institutions, including building civil aviation, in a way that provides humanitarian services to passengers without exception.
He added that the construction phase requires everyone to come together and work in the spirit of one team to accomplish this important stage in the field of civil aviation... indicating that the authority has national technical and professional expertise working to overcome the difficulties and challenges that the aggression tried to create over a period of ten years.
He pointed out that there are strategic plans for all the various sectors of the authority that would develop the air transport sector in accordance with the requirements and international standards emanating from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
In turn, the Director of Sana'a Airport reviewed the level of work progress at the airport according to the technical, administrative and professional aspects. He also explained that Sana'a Airport provides its navigational services for the civil flights heading to the destination of Jordan and international flights affiliated with the United Nations and humanitarian organizations working in Yemen with complete professionalism and around the clock.
The meeting was attended by a number of technical specialists and professionals working at the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology and Sanaa International Airport.
