Minister of Transport Inspects Progress of Development and Construction Works at Sana'a International Airport

On 13th of Sha'aban 1444, the Minister of Transport- Abdul Wahhab Yahya, inspected the execution of development and construction works at Sana'a International Airport.

The Minister Al-Durrah, accompanied by the Chairman of CAMA- Dr. Mohammed Abdulkader, the President of the Roads and Bridges Authority- Abdul-Rahman Al-Hadhrami, and CAMA’s Deputy Chairman- Raed Jabal, were briefed on the main technology for the safety and security of passengers, air navigation, and electrical installations at the airport in accordance with the international requirements and stipulations in force that are applied by the International Civil Aviation Organization. ICAO".

They also listened from the Director of Sana'a International Airport- Khaled Al-Shayef, to a clarification about the procedures, facilities and services provided to passengers through Jordan's sole destination, as well as to the United Nations staff and its affiliated organizations that arrive and depart from and to Sana'a International Airport.

The Minister of Transport and his companions also inspected the progress of work in the rehabilitation of the VIP lounge and the arrival, departure and transit lounges at the airport, which were destroyed by the air raids of the American-Saudi-Emirati coalition aggression, and they also listened from the specialized engineers to an explanation about the project of rehabilitation of the airport facilities with the required specifications, standards, and the commitment to completing them on time.

The Minister of Transport also stressed on the necessity of adhering to the schedule specified for the completion of works according to the agreed specifications and standards, stressing the interest of the state leadership in the Republic's airports in general and Sana'a International Airport in particular.

In addition, a meeting was held in Sana'a International Airport, chaired by the Minister of Transport- Abdul Wahhab Al-Durra, discussing the mechanism for developing work between the Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority and the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges in executing the projects in Sana'a, Taiz and Hodeidah International Airports.

The meeting, which was attended by the Chairman of CAMA- Dr. Mohammed Abdulkader, the President of the General Corporation for Roads and Bridges- Abdul Rahman Al-Hadrami, the CAMA’s Deputy Chairman- Raed Jabal, and the director of Sana’a International Airport- Khaled Al-Shayef, discussed the restoration and rehabilitation works in the important facilities at the airports of Sana’a, Taiz and Hodeidah.

In the meantime, the Minister of Transport also stressed on the importance of completing the projects in the airports of Sana'a, Taiz and Hodeidah in accordance with the international specifications and standards in force at international airports.

He pointed out that the rehabilitation of Taiz and Hodeidah airports is one of the important strategic projects for which plans have been prepared by the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority.

Whereas, the Chairman of CAMA indicated that the development plans and studies for Taiz and Hodeidah airports are ready with the authority, and were prepared in accordance with the international requirements and standards that are applied by the International Civil Aviation Organization "ICAO".

On his part, the President of the Roads and Bridges Corporation affirmed the Corporation's readiness to execute the works and allocate its capabilities in executing the projects in Sana'a, Taiz and Hodeidah airports in accordance with the international specifications.
