Meeting Chaired By Deputy Minister of Transport To Discuss Setting Priorities For CAMA’s Plan For Year 1445 AH

On 13th Shaban 1444, a meeting at CAMA's Head Office chaired by the Deputy Minister of Transport- Mohammed Al-Hashemi, discussed setting the priorities for the plans and projects of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (CAMA) for the year 1445 AH.

The meeting, in the presence of the Chairman of CAMA- Dr. Mohammed Abdulkader, the Head of the main executive unit at the Ministry of Transport- Eng. Nazir Al-Dubaei, and the Director General of Strategic Planning and Quality Auditing, the Head of the sub-unit in the Authority- Hashim Abdulkader, reviewed the program for preparing priorities for the projects of CAMA for the next year 1445 AH according to the determinants and indicative guidelines and their financing mechanisms.

At the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Transport affirmed the keenness of the ministry and its affiliated authorities and corporations to execute the transport sector projects according to what was included in the plan for the year 1444 AH, based on the available capabilities.

And he also indicated that everyone is working on one track, and a team was formed from the executive unit in the ministry and the authority to prepare the evaluation mechanism, forms and stereotypes during the field visit to the authorities and corporations affiliated with the ministry, to assess the level of performance and review the mid-term completion report for the work plan for the year 1444 AH.

Al-Hashemi also stressed that the ministry's work priorities require achievement and implementation on the ground, in a way that contributes to the promotion and development of the various transport sectors, praising the efforts of CAMA in developing the performance of Sana'a International Airport in accordance with international technical requirements.

Whereas the Chairman of CAMA reviewed the projects and programs executed by the authority by self-financing despite the scarcity of capabilities, stressing that projects have been executed in Sana’a International Airport that are of importance to the continuity of the airport’s work to provide the services as required according to international standards and requirements and developments in the civil aviation sector.

He also explained that the authority has strategic projects and activities that have top priorities, but it needs support to raise the level of air navigational services and other activities of the authority, noting that the authority works in accordance with the international requirements issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), indicating that the authority, despite the challenges of aggression and blockade, provides its air navigation services for civil aviation efficiently and works to develop its sectors and rehabilitate the airports.

Meanwhile, the head of the executive unit at the Ministry of Transport discussed the basic determinants that must be applied during the development of the plan for the year 1445 AH, including the determinants for selecting priorities, formulating them, determining their status and reference, and the justifications for setting the priority and the degree of its importance.

He also pointed out the importance of formulating and crystallizing them into general policies or directives, and not drafting them in the form of a project only.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Strategic Planning Department, member of the Executive Unit of the National Vision at the Authority- Mohammed Hizam Al-Nahmi, and the planning specialist, member of the Executive Unit of the National Vision- Mohammed Al-Sairafi.
