On 8^th September 2021, a meeting in Sana'a, chaired by the Minister of Transport- Amer Al-Marani, discussed the level of CAMA’s work evaluation, its sectors and the mechanism for developing them in line with the international requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Transport for Air Transport Sector- Abdullah Al-Ansi, Chairman of CAMA- Dr. Mohammed Abdulkader, Deputy Chairman of CAMA- Raed Jabal, CAMA’s Assistant Deputies for the different sectors and the Ministry’s advisor- Mohammed Al-Sharif, discussed the priorities of the tasks and works to be executed at the level of CAMA and its sectors, and the needs to enhance and develop its navigational services in the field of civil aviation. .

The meeting also reviewed a report on the projects approved for Sana’a International Airport, the Aviation Safety Sector Audit Report, CAMA’s job discipline, electronic automation, and the achievements made in the meteorological sector, including the installation of new Weather Observation Stations in a number of governorates of the Republic, which contributes to developing and strengthening the meteorological observation process.

The meeting dealt with evaluating the projects, activities and programs of the second phase of the National Vision 2021-2025 of CAMA and its various sectors in accordance with the international conditions and requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), including the rehabilitation of the power station at Sana’a International Airport, maintenance of the airport runway, the airport’s fence and other strategic projects which will achieve the goals of CAMA locally and internationally.

In the meeting, the Minister of Transport stressed the necessity of executing the studied projects on the ground and translating them into practice, and that they should not be just ink on a paper. Meanwhile, he praised the efforts of the leadership of the CAMA and its different sectors in the professional and technical fields and the services it provides to the international civil aviation in accordance with the international conditions and laws, referring to the international ISO certificate obtained by CAMA in the civil aviation safety sector.

Minister Al-Marani affirmed the need to pay attention to meteorological services and develop their meteorological stations and early warning system in a way that enhances the services they provide to all segments of society, especially farmers, investors, traders, researchers and students in the Yemeni universities in various disciplines.
