Deputy Chairman of CAMA: Aggression Military Aircraft Targeted Sanaa Airport and Made It Out of Readiness

The Deputy Chairman of CAMA- Raed Jabal said that the militarily aircraft of the US-Saudi aggression coalition directly targeted Sanaa International Airport on 20th of December 2021 with a number of air raids, which led to being out of readiness.

Jabal said in a press statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that Sana'a Airport was providing its navigational services to the United Nations and International Organizations aircraft with full professionalism and technical readiness, in accordance with the international requirements and stipulations applicable at the international airports.

He also stressed that the Saudi-led aggression coalition aims, through this targeting, to impede the humanitarian aid provided to the Yemeni people and obstruct the flights of the United Nations and International Organizations operating in Yemen, ignoring all international covenants and agreements that criminalize targeting civilian airports, foremost of which is the Chicago Agreement.

He pointed out that the countries of the coalition of aggression targeted Sanaa International Airport since the first day and prevented the entry of its communications equipment and system, and today they targeted the airport directly.

In the meantime, the Deputy Chairman of CAMA pointed out that the targeting of the airport comes within the framework of the aggression's targeting of civilian objects that are protected by the International Law.

He called on the United Nations to take immediate action to stop this systematic targeting of the airport, which will hinder its air movements.
