Conclusion of International and Humanitarian Law Seminar in Sana'a

The seminar on (International and Humanitarian Law - the Law of War) was concluded in Sana'a , with the participation of a number of leaders and employees of CAMA. The participants in the Seminar that was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross in cooperation with the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for two days received concepts and definitions of the International Humanitarian Law, its historical development, scope of application, the relationship between it and human rights law, the introduction of the categories covered by the protection of Humanitarian Law, the main protection provisions, the places covered by the protection of the International Humanitarian Law and mechanisms for respecting the rights of the International Law and the preventive, supervisory and disciplinary mechanisms. In the conclusion ceremony, the Deputy Chairman- Mr. Raed Talib Jabal, stressed on the importance of raising the knowledge and expertise of civil aviation personnel and meteorologists, with the International laws and norms, as this is the cornerstone of facilitating communication with the International Organizations. He also pointed out that the Seminar had achieved its designated goals, praising the efforts made by the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Diplomatic Institute and the trainers for its success.  For his part, the Dean of the Diplomatic Institute- Dr. Ahmed Al-Emad, stressed that the Seminar was one of the most successful training programs organized at the Diplomatic Institute, which is considered one of the important seminars which its importance has increased with the increase in the violations that our country was subjected to as a result of the aggression and blockade.Al-Emad also praised the level of discipline and the remarkable attendance of the participants and their eagerness to benefit during the days of the Seminar. He praised the efforts of CAMA’s leadership represented by Dr. Mohammed Abdulkader- Chairman of CAMA and Mr. Raed Talib Jabal, the Deputy Chairman of CAMA, who had an effective role in the success of the Seminar, while the Vice President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Delegation in Sana’a- Mr. Alexander Ikoy, praised the remarkable attendance of the participants and their interaction, which was significantly reflected in the depth of the discussion; noting that the International Committee of the Red Cross - Yemen Mission adopts a series of programs aimed at spreading the culture of the International Humanitarian Law. This was followed by the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the participants in the Seminar.
