CAMA Holds Workshop on Airports Campus Identification and Surfaces of Barriers Restriction

the restriction to reduce the barriers and specifying the provisions and restrictions of buildings nearby the vicinity of the airports or inside it. In the workshop, which was attended by the Deputy Chairman of CAMA- Mr. Mohammed al-Sharif, the Assistant Deputies of CAMA and Directors General, H.E. Minister of Transport- Brigade/ Zakaria Al-Shami stressed on the importance of such workshop as it concerns with the protection of lives and properties. In addition, a group of CAMA's elite cadres who have extensive experience in this field participated in this workshop.

He also pointed out that in the light of the workshop and its recommendations to formulate the strategic policies to come up with a vision to ensure that all the necessary measures and procedures are taken to determine the airport campus to ensure the air safety and meets the international conditions and standards issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), indicating that the outcomes of the workshop will be in accordance with the volume of the participants.

In turn, the Chairman of CAMA- Dr. Mohammed Abdulkader said that the workshop is very important as it aims to find solutions to the problems related to the airport campus. He pointed out that this workshop is the first and is the completion of previous efforts and will be followed by two workshops to discuss the problems of each airport separately according to its levels and to develop the proposals for necessary solutions that will be discussed with the ministries, institutions and authorities which its work is associated with the airports campus to come up with a unified mechanism to be applied and enforced jointly in accordance with international requirements in this aspect. He also stressed the need to come out of this workshop with recommendations to ensure the achievement of the objectives and develop appropriate solutions to the problems related to the airport campus.

For his part, the Asst. Deputy Chairman of Airports Sector Mr. Yahya Al-Kohlani stressed on the importance of finding a clear and common vision that ensures the development of appropriate solutions to the problems of the airport campus to ensure the safety of the lives of passengers and civil aviation which will contribute to the preservation of public and private properties. Meanwhile, he thanked the leadership of the Ministry of Transport and CAMA for supporting the efforts of the airports sector in meeting its needs and solving the difficulties faced in the performance of its work.
 

During the first day of the workshop, five working papers were presented by a number of specialists and technicians at CAMA.
