CAMA Conducts Workshop on Discussion of Its Plan Completion Workshop

On 14th March 2023, a workshop was held in Sana'a to discuss the report on the completion of the executive work plan of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority emanating from the strategic plan 2021-2025.

The workshop aimed to promote and develop the fields of civil aviation at the local and international levels within the framework of the national vision and the strategy of the International Civil Aviation Organization "ICAO".

The workshop also focused on achieving the authority's vision through safe, effective and sustainable civil aviation, efficient air navigation and meteorological services that enhance air safety in the territory of the Republic of Yemen in accordance with the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization, and the development of air navigation, meteorology, airports and air transport.

During the opening of the workshop, the Minister of Transport- Abdul Wahhab Al-Durra stressed on the importance of the strategic plans to develop work and achieve the desired goals according to sound foundations that achieve the best results on reality.

He also pointed out that the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority works according to two local and international tracks in order to achieve its goals based on the elements related to human and material resources and the international regulations and laws of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Minister Al-Durra urged the Authority's leadership to pay attention to training, qualifying and developing the technical and professional capabilities of the Authority's cadres to benefit from them in developing the Authority's work in providing distinguished air navigational services.

He also stressed on the need to make more efforts and work in a team spirit to enhance and develop the fields of civil aviation during the next stage and execute the strategic plan that was prepared and studied by Yemeni cadres. He praised the plan's consideration of the requirements and stages of the national vision, and the conditions of the international organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization.

In turn, the Deputy Minister of Transport- Mohammed Al-Hashemi pointed out the importance of the authority's plan and the objectives on which it was built, stressing on the need to execute it in reality.

He also pointed out that the work of the authority is technical and professional and acquires local and international importance, explaining that the strategic plan of the authority deals with addressing all the aspects related to aviation safety and security, airport operation, air navigation services and meteorology in line with the goals of the national vision to build the new Yemeni state.

In the workshop, which was attended by the Authority’s Deputy Chairman- Raed Jabal and the Deputy of the Ministry of Transport for the Air Transport Sector- Abdullah Al-Ansi, Chairman of CAMA- Dr. Mohammed Abdulkader, explained that the Authority’s plan was issued after multiple stages that began with analyzing the current situation, formulating the strategy and reference, and then approval and issuance as the basic guidelines for the work of all components of the Authority. He also affirmed the Authority's commitment to executing all the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

In addition, the Director of Planning and Quality at the Authority- Hashim Abdulkader, reviewed the executive action plan emanating from the strategic plan, which included an analysis of the reality of the civil aviation sector, meteorology, the stages it went through, and the main objectives that will be executed according to two local and international tracks.

The Director of the Strategic Planning Directorate at the Authority- Mohammed Al-Nahmi, gave an analytical presentation of the Authority's work plan for the current year, its achievement report in all the sectors of the Authority, and the obstacles facing each sector.

After the workshop, which was attended by the Authority’s assistant Deputy Chairmen and general managers, the Deputy Minister of Transport and the Chairman of CAMA honored the entities that achieved the highest achievement rate, as the air navigation sector which achieved the highest achievement rate, while the General Administration of Navigational Systems and Equipment achieved the second highest achievement rate. Some of the distinguished employees were also honored for the qualitative achievements in the Authority's work plan for the year 2022.
