CAMA Condemns Targeting Taiz Airport And Denies Allegations of Aggression Regarding Sana'a Airport

CAMA condemned the continuous and systematic targeting of the Republic’s airports by the aggression coalition, the latest of which was on 12th September 2021 by bombing Taiz International Airport with several air raids. In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Deputy Chairman of CAMA- Raed Talib Jabal, indicated that the targeting of Taiz airport took place despite its getting out of technical readiness due to previous bombing by the aggression.

The Deputy Chairman denounced the bombing of civilian airports, noting that this is a violation of all international laws and norms that criminalize any attacks on them, even during wars. He also condemned the continued international silence regarding the crimes of aggression, and reiterated Yemen's demand to the international community to quickly lift the blockade imposed on Sana'a International Airport to save the lives of patients, relieve the suffering of expatriates and stranded people in particular.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman denied the accuracy of what was reported by some media and websites of the aggression coalition countries, that the closure of Sana'a airport came as a result of its use as a passageway for smuggling weapons. And he indicated that Sana'a International Airport is a civilian airport that provides air navigation services to civil aviation in accordance with the international requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

In the meantime, he pointed out that the recent allegations and lies of the aggression coalition came to elude the demands of opening the airport after the murder and torture of the Yemeni expatriate young man- Abdul Malik Al-Sanabani, and other victims who died in the areas controlled by the forces of aggression, after their arrival at Aden Airport, where the situation became a threat to the lives of all citizens who are returning to the homeland using airports and areas controlled by the mercenaries of the aggression.
